Join the Global Women’s Walk 2026—a movement to honor, support, and elevate the powerhouse women shaping the marine industry.

After raising more than $5,000 in 2025, the Global Women’s Walk is returning to unite the marine industry in celebrating, supporting and uplifting women and girls! This year we're setting our sights higher with the goal of raising $25,000 - enough to support an entire school of girls with Room to Read's Gender Equality Portfolio, empowering adolescent girls to stay in school, continue their education, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Room to Read’s Gender Equality Portfolio:
From an early age, gender-based attitudes shape how children see themselves – and their futures. Girls face strong pressures to marry early or find work, and are disproportionately burdened with domestic responsibilities, often sacrificing their schooling. Boys, too, by perpetuating harmful gender norms and perceptions, also suffer the consequences of gender inequalities, constraining their own households’ financial security, health and well-being.

Room to Read’s Gender Equality Portfolio has supported over 4.1 million young learners across 12 countries, supporting all adolescents, particularly girls, to develop life skills that promote gender equality — enabling them to pursue lifelong learning and make informed decisions. Addressing these inequalities and recognizing every child’s intrinsic worth isn’t just about fairness – it’s about creating a more prosperous, peaceful and equitable world for all genders. 

We are proud to share that 96% of adolescents from our Gender Equality Portfolio graduate secondary school, and 77% of graduates are either employed or enrolled in higher education within one year of graduating.

Your donation can provide adolescents in our program with:

  • Classes on life skills such as leadership, resilience and critical thinking
  • Individualized support and guidance from a local woman mentor
  • Family and community engagement to raise awareness and build support at home
  • Material support for needs such as tuition, books and supplies, uniforms and safe transportation to school

Room to Read (Hong Kong) Limited is a Hong Kong tax-exempt organization as described in Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. All donations over HK$100 are eligible for tax deduction. No goods or services have been or will be provided to you in exchange for this contribution. As such, donations are tax-deductible for Hong Kong Income Tax purposes during the tax year 2022/23.
