UNICEF reports seven out of ten 10-year-olds in low- and middle-income countries cannot read and understand a simple story. Without the support and resources to build basic literacy skills, children have little hope of building brighter futures.

Students are far more likely to learn to read when they can access a wide variety of high-quality, culturally relevant books in their own language. But in many countries, locally developed children’s literature is scarce or nonexistent. You can help us tell a different story.

Room to Read (Hong Kong) Limited is a Hong Kong tax-exempt organization as described in Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. All donations over HK$100 are eligible for tax deduction. No goods or services have been or will be provided to you in exchange for this contribution. As such, donations are tax-deductible for Hong Kong Income Tax purposes during the tax year 2022/23.
